Supported platforms

Breakcastr only puts graphics in your OBS scene. OBS still sends your video to whatever platform you sell on. Two things have to be true for a platform to work today:

  1. You can stream to it from OBS, not just from its own phone app. If there is nowhere to add a browser source, there is nowhere for the overlay to go.
  2. It is a vertical (portrait) stream. Breakcastr is portrait-only right now, so widescreen platforms like Twitch and YouTube are not supported yet.

Any streaming platform works if it gives you a way to stream in from OBS: an RTMP or WHIP server and a stream key. Any platform that only lets you go live from inside its own app, with no way to bring in an outside video feed, has nowhere to attach the overlay. If you are not sure, look for a “stream with software,” “RTMP,” or “stream key” option in the platform’s go-live settings.

Landscape platforms (coming soon)

Twitch, YouTube, and other widescreen (16:9) platforms are not supported yet. Breakcastr’s overlays are built for a vertical canvas, so a landscape stream will not lay out correctly. Landscape support is planned and in progress, but it is not available today. For now, use one of the vertical platforms above.

Connect OBS to your platform

Once you have your platform’s server URL and stream key:

  1. OBS → Settings → Stream.
  2. Service: choose your platform if it is listed, otherwise choose Custom.
  3. Paste the Server/URL and Stream Key, then Apply → OK.
  4. Click Start Streaming in OBS, then run your break from the Break Control dock.

Stream keys, eligibility, and platform rules change often. Always confirm against your platform’s own help center.
