Channel setup
Your channel is your account and your identity on stream. It is the one thing every break you run belongs to, and it feeds the widgets that show who you are: your name plate, your logo, your socials bar. You set them up once and rarely touch them again.
You configure all of the following on the Channel tabs in your Dashboard. The setup checklist on your Dashboard home links to these same tabs, so if you finished setup you have already done most of this.
Channel branding
- Display name. The name of your channel. It shows on some widgets and public pages, so use the name your viewers know you by.
- Channel Logo. Your square channel mark. It appears on your name plate and can sit anywhere on the overlay. A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background works best.
- Channel Wordmark. The wide, horizontal version of your brand: your name or logo lockup laid out to fill a banner shape. The name plate can show it on its own or next to your channel name. A wide PNG with a transparent background works best.
- Brand colors. A primary and secondary color pair for your brand. Set both or neither; they are used together.
- Socials. Your handles for the social platforms you want to promote (for example TikTok, YouTube, or X). You enter them once here, and the socials bar widget pulls them onto the overlay for you.
- Selling platforms. The marketplaces you sell on (for example Whatnot, eBay Live, or Fanatics Live) and your store link on each. Entered once here, and the selling platforms widget puts them on the overlay.
You can change any of these later. Because your widgets read from the channel, updating your logo or a handle here updates it everywhere it appears.
Styling and themes
Looking like your own channel, not a generic template, is the whole point. Your logo, name, and socials above carry across the board, your name plate, and your alerts automatically.
- Per-widget styling. Each widget can be tuned when you design your overlay: fonts, colors, backgrounds, animated background effects, borders, corners, and alignment. See Customizing widgets and the styling reference.
- Your brand colors carry through. Once set, they are offered first in every color picker, and the animated background effects can run in them.
- Coming soon. Theme presets that coordinate colors across all your widgets in one pick, and full custom theming where you control the palette end to end (an Elite feature), are both on the roadmap. See Pricing and plans.

Either order works, but you need both before anything reaches your stream. If you wire OBS first, your scene will show no Breakcastr graphics until you have saved a template and pressed Start break in your studio. That is expected, not a broken setup.
